Until recently the career of bartending was not taken seriously by many. Now however, bartending can be a passport to the world while being an enjoyable, sustainable and rewarding career. In this panel discussion hosted by WSET, some of the bar world’s leading practitioners share their insights in how to make the most of your bartender career potential.

With a career as a cocktail bartender stretching back to 2004, Charlie has a track record in advocacy and consultancy for spirits brands such as Hendrick’s Gin, Grey Goose and Tullamore DEW. As a bar consultant, Charlie has trained bartenders and designed menus in 5 star hotel bars in London, Washington DC, Puerto Rico, Mexico & Azerbaijan.
Charlie joined WSET as Business Development Manager for Spirits (EMEA) in October 2019. With a particular expertise in Irish whiskey, Charlie is qualified to deliver WSET spirits qualifications including the new Level 3 Award in Spirits, and is delighted to champion WSET spirits qualifications throughout Europe, the Middle East, Africa and India.
Sky HUO | WSET Level 3 Award in Spirits Educator & Founder of Spirits Cave
Being awarded one of the Top 25 Bartenders of Drinks World Asia Hong Kong in 2014, inspired her to better herself working abroad in some best bars around the world, The Baxter Inn Sydney (World's 50 Best Bars 12th 2016), Happiness Forgets London (Best International Bar 2018). When the timing was right, she returned to Hong Kong to run one of the sister bar ‘The Sea’ of the best bar The Old Man in Asia (2019). She’s now founder and educator of Spirits Cave and bar director of 001 (Hong Kong’s first speakeasy).
Jason-Candid Knüsel | Co-Owner & Director, Healthy Hospo
Jason-Candid is an award winning bartender based in London, where he developed an arsenal of skills in high-end environments. Jason's heart beats for food, drinks and people within hospitality. In 2020 he started expanding his knowledge around Nutrition, and it’s impact on ones health, to become a certified Nutritionist. Shortly after completing his degree, he has taken over Healthy Hospo, an organisation with the mission to create a healthier, happier hospitality industry. Healthy Hospo works around the world, building healthy workplaces that are more profitable, resilient, deliver better customer service, and are much more enjoyable places to work. The services offered are practical and actionable, sharing solutions through workshops, and the digital platform to support professionals, personally, and professionally.
Brandon Grusd | General Manager, Proof & Company for South East Asia
General Manager of Proof & Company for South East Asia, Brandon has spent the last 18 years in the beverage industry, and is a passionate advocate for the 2nd golden era of fine drinking. He leads with an international lens, bringing experience and expertise from Africa, the Middle East and Asia. Brandon has a background in organisational psychology and is also a WSET Level 3 Spirits Educator based in Singapore.

Join us as we taste some of our favourite fruit-forward spirits and develop a technical understanding of the range of distilling techniques used to cram so much concentrated fruit flavour into a glass of spirits.
No bananas were harmed in the making of this seminar.
