A beer sommelier is a trained expert that specialises in beer styles, brewing methods and food pairings. The role is sometimes referred to as a Cicerone, particularly in the United States, or perhaps a beer specialist. It’s not as common as a wine sommelier, but the field is growing rapidly.

A new social impact case study highlighting how WSET, Wine Education Co., APTC and local partners worked together to bring the WSET Level 1 Award in Wines to the Solomon Islands. The programme supported 23 hospitality and tourism professionals with accessible wine education, building confidence, skills and new career pathways in one of the Pacific’s lowest-income nations.
