Join Julia Lambeth DipWSET for an intermediate-level tasting of eight German wines – you'll discover that there is so much more to Germany than Riesling!
Event details
Germany has a long history of winemaking, with evidence of vine cultivation going back hundreds of years. Over time, the country has developed a reputation for producing some of the world's most highly regarded wines, particularly from it’s native Riesling grape. However, there is so much more to Germany than just Riesling! Weissburgunder (Pinot Blanc), Silvaner and Spätburgunder (Pinot Noir) are just a few examples of grape varieties producing top quality wines in the country.
In this session, WSET School London educator Julia Lambeth DipWSET, supported by Wines of Germany UK, will introduce you to a range of grape varieties and regions of Germany. The tasting will challenge misconceptions about German wines (it’s not all Riesling and it’s not all sweet!) as well as look at some topical information, such as climate change and recent changes to labelling law.
The tasting will include a selection of sparkling, white and red wines.
