Join Alex Brogan, winemaker of the newly formed Not Yet Named Wine Co., for a tasting of their latest release and to learn about their community driven approach to winemaking.
Event details
Founded in 2022, Not Yet Named Wine Co. has a unique approach to making wine. Without owning vineyards or a winery, their winemakers fly from country to country, collaborating with established producers. Its members purchase wine in advance of production in exchange for a say in how the wine is made and some bottles of the finished product.
We've invited co-founder and winemaker Alex Brogan to talk through the company's first vintage experience in collaboration with Portuguese winery Soalheiro.
Enjoy a glass Soalheiro's sparkling wine on arrival before tasting tasting the two wines that were created as part of Edition #1 including an exclusive opportunity to try the sold-out 'Soul Hero'. We'll be discussing each of the decisions made along the way, how and why they came about, and whether those decisions have lead to identifiable characteristics in the wines.
We'll also be joined by current and former WSET students who took part in the first edition to give you their perspective on the project.

About the speaker, Alex Brogan
Alex started his wine journey at Majestic a decade ago before briefly switching careers to work in finance. After doing harvests in Chile and Bordeaux during a sabbatical he decided to take the leap back into wine and study Oenology and Viticulture at Plumpton College. He works part-time at The Sampler in Islington and is part way through the WSET Diploma, with just the small matter of D3 to complete...
Alex recently won the IWSC Emerging Talent in Wine 2023 for the Not Yet Named Wine Co. concept, which was set up as a way to gain winemaking experience across the world and hopefully pay for a few flights along the way.
About Not Yet Named Wine Co.
Not Yet Named Wine Co. is an innovative winemaking concept where its members vote on all the big decisions that impact the style of a wine. Members sign up to receive a case of wine and a vote at each step of the winemaking process.
The winemakers provide you with a few options for each decision, along with all the pros and cons for you to make an informed decision. It combines entertainment, community, technical winekaking education and, of course, wine, transporting you to a different winemaking region every six months.
They have completed two vintages so far; in Portugal with Quinta de Soalheiro and in Chile with La Despensa Boutique. Next stop is California with Edition #3 taking place in Livermore with Darcie Kent Vineyards.
