Sample the best of the WSET School London cellars as we dust off old and rare bottles from across the world.
Event details
Join us for an intimate tasting of one-of-a-kind wines. We've journeyed deep into our cellars under Bermondsey Street and pulled out the best bottles of world-beating wine for you to try.
Hosted by one of our educators, you'll sample a flight of six wines, with each bottle a different shade of old, iconic and idiosyncratic. You'll learn about the history of each glass and pick up tips on how to store and serve well-aged wine.
Enjoy your wines alongside a large selection of raw milk cheese, artisan charcuterie and other delicious fine foods provided by Provisions London.
Spaces are limited so book soon to avoid disappointment. This tasting will take place seated on comfortable bar stools around the long table of our Diploma Suite.
Example wine list
- Clos des Papes - Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blanc 2008
One of the Southern Rhône's most sought after producers, Clos des Papes makes their lesser-known white in tiny quantities compared to the flagship red wine. When properly matured, the result is rich, warming and complex.
- Lopéz de Heredia - Viña Tondonia Gran Reserva 1994
From their iconic Tondonia vineyard perched on the banks of the Ebro river, Lopez de Heredia creates an authentic interpretation of 19th century Rioja. They have become renowned for their meticulous and traditional approach to winemaking and their Gran Reserva is the pinnacle of their production.
- Château Musar - 1998
Founded in 1930, Château Musar has worked tirelessly to reclaim the millennia-old tradition of winemaking in Lebanon's Bekaa Valley. Their flagship red mixes the best of Bordeaux and the south of France in a wine that rewards ageing.
- Argyros - Santorini Assyrtiko 2015
Well-aged Assyrtiko is one of wine's most underappreciated treasures. Argyros has been producing wine on sun-kissed Santorini since 1903 and some of the estate's original vines, now over 120-years old are used to create wines with a unique combination of freshness and power.
- Fox Run Vineyards - Dry Riesling 2015
Fox Run's vines cling to the banks of Seneca lake for protection from New York's arctic winters, producing elegant cool-climate Riesling that has surprised and delighted wine drinkers over the past decade.
- Barão de Vilar - Colheita Blanco 2007
The obscure cousin of the many shades of fortified red produced in the Douro Valley, white port offers stunningly good value for money. Aged in cask for over a decade by a producer that has been family run for 14 generation, this promises to be a memorable way to end the evening.
