Explore orange wine's journey from ancient tradition to the "verre du jour" of London's trendiest wine bars.
Event details
From the ancient wineries of the Caucasus to trendy London wine bars, orange wine has been on quite a journey. Skin-contact winemaking is no longer the preserve of natural winemakers and, as an increasing number of producers experiment with the style, we are seeing ever more amber-tinted bottles appearing on shop shelves and restaurant lists.
But is orange wine a brave new frontier or just a flash in the pan? Join Sam Povey for this tangerine-tinged tasting of top skin-contact wines from across the world. Discover the transformative effect that skin-contact has on wine and taste how different winemakers are repurposing this technique to suit their own wines.
This tasting is perfect for anyone who is new to the category or orange wine fans looking to discover different producers and regions.
