Join Anjali Douglas DipWSET to taste some truly show-stopping wines alongside a selection of samosas from Big Mum's Samosas. All proceeds will go to the Disasters Emergency Committee Pakistan Floods Appeal.
Event details
For our second annual fundraising tasting, Anjali has pulled out all the stops and lined up an awesome selection of wines, pairing each wine with some of London’s best samosas. Anjali will guide you through a tasting of six delicious samosas and six outstanding wines, to show that there are plenty of wines that will sing alongside a little bit of spice.
The instinctive drinks pairing for Indian food may be beer, but Anjali Douglas DipWSET is on a mission to change that! During this one-of-a-kind evening, you’ll be tasting a contender for the finest white wine made in Bordeaux, a 1980s Napa Cabernet, an iconic dessert wine about to celebrate its 20th birthday, and how could we not – some outstanding vintage champagne will kick things off. There may even be some bonus pours on the evening to make things extra special.
Big Mum's Samosas are handmade by ‘Samosa Queen’ Sushma Rani Makol, who has been making delicious samosas for over 50 years. With crisp pastry and fillings that span the classic to the experimental, you’ll also get to taste six of London’s best samosas alongside these showstopping wines.
100% of your ticket price will be donated to the Pakistan Floods Appeal. A tasting not to be missed!

About the speaker, Anjali Douglas DipWSET
Anjali worked in hospitality while studying her A-Levels, never intending to make a career out of it. She then started working in education for museums and galleries, producing events and festivals to attract diverse audiences. She caught the wine bug five years ago and returned to hospitality, starting her new career in a wine bar, before moving on to become responsible for training hospitality staff and sommeliers for a wine distributor. Now, she teaches Levels 1-2 at WSET School London. No matter what industry she is in, Anjali’s aim is to open up conventionally elitist institutions, art forms, and beverages, to more.
