Join Deniz Bayram DipWSET to embark on an epic journey exploring the rich wine heritage of Mesopotamia.
Event details
While the Southern Caucuses, especially Georgia and Armenia, are celebrated for their ancient wineries, it is Mesopotamia where the intricate story of wine finds its true origins.
Mesopotamia is thought to be one of the places where early civilisation developed. It is a historic region of West Asia situated in the fertile valleys between the Tigris and Euphrates rivers, and is now home to modern-day Iraq, Iran, Turkey and Syria.
In this tasting, WSET School London educator Deniz Bayram DipWSET will guide you through a unique and rare selection of modern wines. You'll explore a diverse range of styles that pay homage to Mesopotamia's ancient traditions. Deniz will share the fascinating story behind each bottle, shedding light on the evolution of wine from its humble beginnings to the globally-popular beverage of today.
The wines will be paired with snacks that will transport you to the "Fertile Crescent".
This session is ideal for anyone interested in learning about the history of winemaking or simply tasting some unique and delicious wines!
