Although only producing 1% of the world's wines, Austria has perhaps the highest quality standards required, resulting in some of the greatest wines of the world.
Often the unsung hero, Austria produces crisp and complex white wines as well as supple and refreshing reds.
Ray O'Connor MW will guide you through eight wines which will showcase the quality and diversity of wines that can be found in Austria.

About the presenter, Ray O'Connor MW
Ray O’Connor is an Irish Master of Wine based in the UK. He was formerly sommelier to Gordon Ramsay, in London’s Michelin starred Maze restaurant, followed by seven years as Commercial Manager for the International Wine Challenge. For the past 10 years he has been the Wine Director for Naked Wines responsible for discovering new wines and managing a rigorous quality control program.
Today he is an independent wine consultant specialising in bulk transportation of wine and works continuously on improving the quality perception of wines through blending, range development and communication.

Payment in full must be made at the time of booking and places are not confirmed until payment has been received. Unfortunately we cannot take provisional bookings.
Cancellations and transfers
- Cancellations and transfers can be made up to two weeks before the event.
- Cancellations within 10 working days are non-refundable and cannot be transferred to another event.
- If you need to change a name on the booking, please give us as much notice as possible.
- WSET School London reserves the right to cancel an event. If necessary, a full refund or transfer will be offered.
