New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc is the UK's best-selling white wine, but there is so much more to explore from the country aside from this popular style.

Varying climates and ambitious winemaking have resulted in a brave new offering from winemakers looking to stand out.

Come along to this tasting hosted by Master of Wine Ray O'Connor to discover what makes New Zealand's wine so popular and discover some hidden gems.

Guests will enjoy the wines alongside a selection of cheese and charcuterie.

We will be donating all proceeds from this event to Mac My Day, supporting Duchenne UK. The fund has been set up by Rebecca Gibb MW, whose son has Duchenne muscular dystrophy.

About the presenter, Ray O'Connor MW

Ray O’Connor

Ray O’Connor is an Irish Master of Wine based in the UK. He was formerly sommelier to Gordon Ramsay, in London’s Michelin starred Maze restaurant, followed by seven years as Commercial Manager for the International Wine Challenge. For the past 10 years he has been the Wine Director for Naked Wines responsible for discovering new wines and managing a rigorous quality control program.

Today he is an independent wine consultant specialising in bulk transportation of wine and works continuously on improving the quality perception of wines through blending, range development and communication.


Booking terms and conditions

Payment in full must be made at the time of booking and places are not confirmed until payment has been received. Unfortunately we cannot take provisional bookings.

Cancellations and transfers

  • Cancellations and transfers can be made up to two weeks before the event.
  • Cancellations within 10 working days are non-refundable and cannot be transferred to another event.
  • If you need to change a name on the booking, please give us as much notice as possible.
  • WSET School London reserves the right to cancel an event. If necessary, a full refund or transfer will be offered.
