Taste a range of incredible wines with 'The wines of Piemonte' author David Way DipWSET. Each ticket includes a copy of the book.
Event details
Piemonte is famous for its outstanding Nebbiolo wines, particularly from Barolo and Barbaresco. It’s also a region responsible for the iconic sparkling wine Asti DOCG.
However, Piemonte has an extraordinary range of wine to offer beyond these favourites too, including ageable white wines from local varieties, outstanding traditional method sparkling wines and an abundance of characterful local black varieties.
This tasting will showcase this diversity of styles, giving us the chance to taste the classics alongside under-the-radar wines that are truly worth discovering.
Each ticket includes a copy of David’s book The wines of Piemonte.
Guests will also have some cheeses from Borough Market to taste alongside the wines.
Tasting level
Intermediate: An in-depth exploration of a particular topic. Some prior knowledge is beneficial – such as a WSET Level 2 qualification – but these sessions will be enjoyable and educational for anyone with an interest in the subject.

About the presenter, David Way DipWSET
Since 2015, David Way has been part of the WSET team that wrote the current Level 4 Diploma in Wines textbooks, first published in 2019. Since then he has been responsible for updating them. He started his wine writing career on his own website, www.winefriend.org, focusing on regions that he has visited, particularly in Italy and France. On the back of his longterm interest in Italian wines, he has recently published The Wines of Piemonte in the Classic Wine Library. This is the first in-depth book to cover the whole of the region. While Barolo and Barbaresco are world-famous wines, Piemonte also has many other denominations and many local grape varieties that do not get the attention they deserve.
