Join Jason Millar DipWSET to meet South Africa's Rhône-influenced winemakers and taste some the world's most exciting new styles of Syrah, Grenache and beyond.

Event details

In the last two decades, the demands of a changing climate and an insatiable curiosity among a new generation of producers has led winemakers across South Africa to move away from Bordeaux grapes and experiment with premium bottlings of Rhône varieties, with international success.

From Grenache to Cinsault, Syrah to Mourvèdre, Grenache Blanc to Viognier, Rhône varieties are some of the most exciting in the Cape, and the wines continue to improve as the winemakers taste, travel and adapt their viticulture and winemaking to the rigours of each harvest.

Enjoy a selection of some of the very best wines available in South Africa from the country’s leading producers along with a selection of cheeses from Mons.
