About the presenter, Sunny Hodge
Sunny Hodge is the founder of Diogenes the Dog in Elephant & Castle and aspen & meursault in Battersea, two innovative wine bars that challenge conventional wine norms. Diogenes the Dog, inspired by the Greek philosopher, offers an unpretentious environment with lesser-known wines from regions like Taiwan and Poland. Aspen & meursault focuses on natural wine production and the journey of food and wine to the table.
A UCL Mechanical Engineering graduate, Hodge applies his love for science and hospitality to revolutionize wine education. His upcoming book, The Cynic’s Guide to Wine (March 2025), debunks wine myths through science. Hodge is also a respected consultant, international wine judge, and commentator, with contributions to major publications such as The Times and The Guardian. His ventures have earned acclaim, and he continues to impact the industry through mentorship and his wholesale business, Diogenes the Dog Trade.
