Join Abbie Bennington DipWSET to uncover the magic of Marsala, one of Sicily’s most important and historic wines.

Event details

The fortified wine Marsala, produced in the western corner of Sicily, gained global recognition as far back as 1773.

Indigenous grape varieties such as Grillo, Inzolia, Catarratto and Damaschino are used to make both the wine and the fortification spirit, and the unique use of ‘mosto cotto’ (cooked grape must) gives a further point of difference to other fortified wines.

This tasting offers you the opportunity to taste a diverse range of fantastic Marsala wines while Abbie explores the cultural significance of these artisanal wines, looking at everything from the importance of ageing to food pairing along the way.

You will learn that these wines can be infinitely delicious, complex and exciting - not just for cooking!

Snacks from Borough Market included!
