Released twenty years ago, Sideways follows Miles and Jack, two friends embarking on a road trip through Santa Barbara’s wine country to celebrate Jack’s upcoming wedding.
The movie has become a cult classic that had a lasting impact on the wine industry – did you know that Pinot Noir sales grew by 16% in the US after it was praised by Miles in Sideways, while Merlot sales dropped by 2% because of his now iconic line, “I’m not drinking any f* Merlot!”?
For our first movie night of the year, we invite you to relive the movie while sipping on a selection of white, rosé and red South California wines inspired by Sideways, alongside American popcorn.
Proceeds will go directly to 211 LA, a charity supporting those impacted by the devastating Los Angeles fires in January 2025.
Your participation will help provide temporary housing, financial aid, and access to mental health and food services for fire survivors.

Booking terms and conditions
Payment in full must be made at the time of booking and places are not confirmed until payment has been received. Unfortunately we cannot take provisional bookings.
Cancellations and transfers
- Cancellations and transfers can be made up to two weeks before the event.
- Cancellations within 10 working days are non-refundable and cannot be transferred to another event.
- If you need to change a name on the booking, please give us as much notice as possible.
- WSET School London reserves the right to cancel an event. If necessary, a full refund or transfer will be offered.
