Master of Wine Sam Caporn will be joining us to explore her approach to tasting wine, as we try eight diverse styles.

Using her infographic ‘The Wine Flavour Tree’, Sam will offer her perspective on how to identify different flavours and analyse the structure of the wine in your glass.

As part of this immersive experience, you'll also receive a signed copy of her debut book, The Wine Flavour Guide, published by Square Peg.

About the presenter, Sam Caporn MW

Sam Caporn MW

Sam Caporn MW has worked in the wine trade for over 25 years, becoming a Master of Wine in 2011. She was also awarded the Madame Bollinger Medal for Outstanding Achievement in the Practical Papers; given to the candidate who achieves the highest scores in the tasting paper that year. A couple of weeks later she welcomed her son and started working as a freelance wine expert and consultant under the brand name The Mistress of Wine.

She is a Co-Chair at the International Wine Challenge, regularly hosts corporate tastings, consults for one of the world’s best known discounters and her first book – The Wine Flavour Guide – was published on 5 September 2024.

Payment in full must be made at the time of booking and places are not confirmed until payment has been received. Unfortunately we cannot take provisional bookings.

Cancellations and transfers

  • Cancellations and transfers can be made up to two weeks before the event.
  • Cancellations within 10 working days are non-refundable and cannot be transferred to another event.
  • If you need to change a name on the booking, please give us as much notice as possible.
  • WSET School London reserves the right to cancel an event. If necessary, a full refund or transfer will be offered.
