Join Natalya Watson, WSET Beer Educator, for this interactive exploration of sour beers that will help broaden your definition of what beer can be!
Event details
Please note that due to unforeseen circumstances this webinar has been postponed to Wednesday 8 January at 4pm (GMT).
Most beers use hop bitterness for balance, but some beer styles - appropriately nicknamed sour beers — use acidity instead. Brewed with both yeast and bacteria, they range from moderately tart to mouth-puckeringly sour. In this webinar we will explore the classics from Germany and Belgium, as well as contemporary interpretations being created by craft brewers.
Join us to discover a range of sour beers that will help broaden your definition of what beer can be!
In this WSET Explorer session we will be discussing the following styles and we encourage you to pick-up your own selection, a spittoon and a sheet of white paper to taste along and maximise your learning at home!
Gose
Berliner weisse
Geuze (gueuze)
Fruit lambic
Flanders red
Dry-hopped sours
Pastry sours
Wild ales
