Join Lauren Denyer DipWSET, our resident expert of all things Española, for an evening exploring the wine of Spain's heartlands.
Discover the maritime region of Bierzo and taste delicate reds produced from the Mencia grape. Then, clamber your way to the Meseta Central, Spain’s vast inland plateau. You’ll learn about the lengths that winegrowers go to produce wine in these harsh conditions. Guests will taste barrel-fermented Verdejo from Rueda, delightful old-vine Garnacha from Calatayud and the powerful wines of Ribera del Duero’s bush vines There will even be a brief stop in the Sierra de Gredos, a mountain range west of Madrid, that has become a hotbed of innovation and natural winemaking in the past decade.
Each tasting in this series will be accompanied by selection of Spanish snacks from Brindisa from cheese and cured meat to Gordal olives.

Tasting level
Intermediate: An in-depth exploration of a particular topic. Some prior knowledge is beneficial – such as a WSET Level 2 qualification – but these sessions will be enjoyable and educational for anyone with an interest in the subject.
About the presenter, Lauren Denyer DipWSET
Lauren Denyer DipWSET teaches all levels of WSET wine qualifications and is the Diploma Events and Enrichment Manager. She has extensive teaching experience having worked as a head of faculty in a secondary school. Lauren is also a Certified Sherry Educator and a Stage 2 Master of Wine student.

Payment in full must be made at the time of booking and places are not confirmed until payment has been received. Unfortunately we cannot take provisional bookings.
Cancellations and transfers
- Cancellations and transfers can be made up to two weeks before the event.
- Cancellations within 10 working days are non-refundable and cannot be transferred to another event.
- If you need to change a name on the booking, please give us as much notice as possible.
- WSET School London reserves the right to cancel an event. If necessary, a full refund or transfer will be offered.
