The third part of our Spain series takes us to Catalunya where you will meet the proud winemakers of the region that produces everything from elegant Cava to powerful Priorat.

Join Lauren Denyer DipWSET, our resident expert of all things Española, for an evening tasting the wines of Spain's largest and most distinctive wine region.
Discover the ins-and-outs of making complex sparkling wine in a Mediterranean climate as well as the history, politics, and controversy surrounding a region trying to make a name for itself as a premium producer of fizz. You’ll then spend some time tasting the region’s sun-kissed white wines, including from an estate that is so remote that working there was intended as an opportunity for disobedient monks to earn penance. Finally, we’ll explore rugged hills of Monsant and Priorat and taste the deeply-coloured, richly-flavoured wines produced by their sparkling black-slate soils.
Each tasting in this series will be accompanied by selection of Spanish snacks from Brindisa from cheese and cured meat to Gordal olives.

Tasting level
Intermediate: An in-depth exploration of a particular topic. Some prior knowledge is beneficial – such as a WSET Level 2 qualification – but these sessions will be enjoyable and educational for anyone with an interest in the subject.
About the presenter, Lauren Denyer DipWSET
Lauren Denyer DipWSET teaches all levels of WSET wine qualifications and is the Diploma Events and Enrichment Manager. She has extensive teaching experience having worked as a head of faculty in a secondary school. Lauren is also a Certified Sherry Educator and a Stage 2 Master of Wine student.

Payment in full must be made at the time of booking and places are not confirmed until payment has been received. Unfortunately we cannot take provisional bookings.
Cancellations and transfers
- Cancellations and transfers can be made up to two weeks before the event.
- Cancellations within 10 working days are non-refundable and cannot be transferred to another event.
- If you need to change a name on the booking, please give us as much notice as possible.
- WSET School London reserves the right to cancel an event. If necessary, a full refund or transfer will be offered.
