Our Spain series concludes in the scorching vineyards of Spain's southern and Mediterranean coast.

Event details

Join Lauren Denyer DipWSET, our resident expert of all things Española, for the conclusion of the series with a tasting that takes us through some of Europe's hottest, driest, and sunniest wine regions.

We’ll kick things off with the wines of Andalucía, a coastal region at the southern end of the Iberian Peninsula. While best known for fortified sherries, you’ll also have the chance to sample a new wave of unfortified wine that producers hope will revive their fortunes. You’ll then head to the Med to taste wines from the scorching vineyards to Alicante and Jumilla. These regions specialise in Monastrell (Mourvedre), a fickle grape that produces luscious, palate-filling red wines that reward ageing. Finally, you’ll try Fondillon, an unusual dessert wine aged in barrels for decades to produce unbelievably concentrated wine.

Each tasting in this series will be accompanied by selection of Spanish snacks from Brindisa from cheese and cured meat to Gordal olives.
